This Month at JEEP – 04.2022

This month we were hard at work to further several projects. In this spirit. Sylvia visited Arua and together with Jolly and Crispus they held several gender championship trainings as part of the the theme “Life skills for success” under the RED project. Aim of these trainings is to promote gender equality/equity and raise awareness about theses issues in communities and societies. The trained people will be role models in the furthering of gender equality and equity.

Additionally, Zeus, Tonny, Hakiza and Kirian went to Zombo. Together with Winnie and Brian, our local field staff, we held several trainings about how to build energy efficient cooking stoves and fireless cooking baskets. The aim is to train so-called trainers of trainees (TOTs), which in turn will be able to teach others, furthering a more environmentally sustainable way of living by using less firewood and other fuel sources.

We furthermore are currently busy installing a rather large solar installation in a school in Mukono. This will be powering all security lights and provide electricity for the class rooms. Work there is done by Zeus, Derrick and Tonny.
