IMPROVED COOK STOVES TRAINING IN KASESE

Joint Energy and Environment Projects (JEEP) has entered into a partnership with WWF Uganda to train trainers (TOT) in Kasese district. The training was aimed at equipping the participants with knowledge and skills on the construction of energy saving cook stoves.

JEEP trained over 900 TOTs in the 10 subcounties of Kasese. These include Maliba, Bugoye, Rukooki, Mahango, Kalusandara, Bwera, Kilembe, Ihandiro, Kyondo and Kasese Municipality.

JEEP worked hand in hand with community organisations such as Mubuku vanilla farmers, New Eden, Caritas, Kiima foods, Uganda police, WWF water users, HOS and was greatly support by the Obusinga bwa Rwenzuruli (OBR)

JEEP is now planning to construct 2 institutional energy saving stoves in 2 schools and follow up on the trainers in order to monitor their progress and motivate them
